Athgarvan GAA to The White House for St. Patrick's Day :
St. Patrick's Day is only around the corner, but as we know our normal traditions and celebrations are not an option this year due to Covid. One such tradition that will not take place this year is the annual visit of the Taoiseach to The White House. So we Athgarvan GAA are going to make the trip (virtually) instead ! The distance from our pitch on The Curragh of Kildare to The White House is 5,400 km as the crow flies. So, we are setting ourselves the challenge of collectively
Walking/Running/Cycling the 5,400 km journey to the most famous house in the world, all while raising funds for the club.
WHEN: The Challenge will begin on Wednesday March 10th finishing on St. Patrick's Day Wednesday 17th inclusive. It's OPEN TO ALL ages/abilities and those both near and far.
HOW WILL IT WORK: Track your walk/run/cycle on an App (e.g Strava, Runkeeper etc.) Take a screenshot and post it here on the event page. We will tot up the Km's covered, and post progress updates as we go along.
WHAT DO I DO NEXT: Join the event by marking yourself as "GOING" to let us know you'll be participating and for updates. Get your family & friends involved too. Being a virtual event, anyone, anywhere can take part.

It's a great way for us to come together, stay active and raise funds for the club all at the same time. While training and games are off-limits at the moment, our costs as a club remain the same and our opportunities to raise funds over the last year have been badly hit due to Covid. We greatly appreciate anything you can donate. So come join us, and together we can get from the pink house to The White House !!
