Dear Nursery Parent/Guardian,

Welcome back to the 2020 Nursery Academy. Great to see so many of you return to our club for 2021. For those who are new to this group, welcome to Athgarvan GAA Nursery Academy 2021.

We are now 7 sleeps away from returning to fun filled Saturday morning. Over the last 3 months, I and the coaching team have been busy preparing a 2 * 12-week block plan broken into younger / older groups. We’ve new games along with the old favourites plus additional equipment has been purchased.

During the week coming there will be more on this plus how to respond to the weekly nursery “event” via ClubZap.

But now for the more serious stuff….

Every parent/guardian who has registered for Nursery 2021 is required to undertake the online eLearning module before coming to the pitch for the first session (Saturday 1st May @ 10am). To complete the eLearning module, please click here.

Please note if only one parent / guardian has registered on ClubZap for the Nursery Group at this time but you plan to share the Saturday morning drives with another parent / guardian, then every parent / guardian needs to be (1) in this Nursery chat group (2) has to complete the eLearning. This is not to annoy anyone but for everyone’s safety. So, unless I am told otherwise, I will assume the parents / guardians in this group are the only parents / guardians who will be pitch side every Saturday morning. If you do add another person for Saturday morning flexibility, please drop me a WhatsApp message of who has been added. I won’t know every parent / guardian for every child. I need your help here….

On completion of this eLearning module, you will be awarded a certificate and evidence of this must be kept on your person (on mobile phone or as a piece of paper stored safely in your car). You may be asked to produce this certificate by a club Covid Supervisor and/or Coach. If you are asked and have not completed the eLearning and/or cannot show proof, you and your child will be asked to refrain for participation until the eLearning is completed or proof shown. Please know, this is not something personal against you or your child. We (coaches and you as parents/guardians) need to do our utmost to ensure a safe outdoor experience every week.

Every week, children will be expected to bring their own water bottle and use only that bottle during the session. Also, every week, parents standing on the side-line are asked to wear a mask and to keep a distance from other parents around you. If you are asked to comply with a direction from a Coach, Covid Supervisor, please do so. Again, do not take offence, we want to ensure everyone comes back the following week.

We realise that some children and/or parents/guardians may have concerns about returning to Gaelic games at this time. We fully appreciate such concerns and you and/or your son/daughter will be very welcome – whenever they return. If a child is not returning to play at this time, we ask that you advise myself by dropping me a message at your earliest convenience.

Looking forward to seeing everyone back on Saturday 1st May @ 10am. For this Saturday if you could arrive earlier (9.45am) so you get to know your surroundings. We will have name badges for all children and coaches.

Look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday 1st May.

Best wishes.

John O’ Sullivan and all the Nursery Coaching Team
