Athgarvan 1-15 Cappagh 1-11

Our Seniors kept their unbeaten record intack in the Junior Football Championship yesterday in Clane with a good win against a dogged Cappagh team.

It was tit-for-tat in the opening half with some good scores from play from Joran Nolan Mullally(2), Derek Nolan, Alan Sourke and Cian Butler to lead by 1 point at half time.

We started the second half really well with scores from play from Frank Kavanagh, Derek Nolan, Alan Sourke and Derek Craddock as well as a few placed balls from Cian Doyle giving us a 4 point lead with 5 minutes remainaing.

A late penalty converted by Cappagh brough the gap to the minimum but Cian Butler scored a cracker of a goal at the death to seal the win.

Our final game of the group stages is against Kill on Friday 1st October in Hawkfield at 8pm. A win here will see us through to the Semi-Final's of this years championship.

It would be great to see as many Athgarvan supporters as possible at that game. All Juveniles are free of charge and it's really important that they have players from our club they can look up to.
