Yesterday, South Kildare Shamrocks U12 reached another Div4 Cup Final seeing off Clane GAA on a score line of 3-8 to 0-5.
The game was evenly matched in the first half but Shamrocks upped their game to run out eventual winners.
This is the second year in a row which sees Shamrock U12 reach a cup final.
Last year’s winners had a tough game against Athy GAA but kept their nerve to see it through.
This year that U12 (now U14) worked hard to also reach their own Cup final beating Maynooth, Celbridge, Leixlip, Sarsfields Milltown, Kill, Round Towers and St. Cocas.
The U14 team played St. Cocas in the semi-final and despite carrying 5 injuries into that game (none of them hurling related!), those who took their place stood up to be counted.
The Cup Final is to be played in Kilcullen GAA on Wednesday 28th June with KO @ 7.30pm. This has all the hallmarks of being a tough game as they come up against a formidable Clane GAA who have proven to be worthy opponents in the past.
Best of luck to both teams and we wish them the very best in their respective Cup Finals.
