The consent of this policy is essential to enable your child to participate in all GAA games, training and other activities in Athgarvan GAA Club.

Gum Shields (Football)
As of the 1st of January 2013, every GAA player under the age of 18 is required to wear a gum shield in the interest of dental protection. Athgarvan GAA in compliance with this ruling would request that you ensure that your child has their own personal gum shield for every training and match.

** A child without a gum shield will not be allowed to take part in both football training and football matches **.

Helmets (Hurling)

The GAA reminds all players at all levels in all Hurling Games and Hurling Practice Sessions that it is mandatory, and the responsibility of each individual player to wear a helmet with a facial guard that meets the standards set out in IS:355 or other replacement standard as determined by the National Safety Authority of Ireland (NSAI).

** Players are not covered under the terms of the GAA Injury Benefit Fund for facial/eye/head injuries suffered where an unapproved or altered helmet is worn **.

Consent

We / I, the parents / guardians agree to abide by the GAA Code of Behaviour (Underage) which can be found here and will encourage my child to do likewise.
We / I, the parents / guardians also agree to abide to Athgarvan GAA Code of Conduct which can be found here and will encourage my child to do likewise.
I am aware that my child’s details will be entered on the official GAA Management System database (Foireann) – this information will be used by the club and the GAA for administration only. I confirm that all details are correct.
I give parental consent for my child to particpate in and travel to all Athgarvan GAA activitieswhere required.
